In Dallas, Texas, a Youm-e-Ali procession was held on March 22, 2024. This event marked the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali, an important figure in Islam. The 21st of Ramadan is celebrated with special gatherings and processions. The central procession in Dallas started from various Imambargahs and made its way to Downtown. Participants carried Alam flags, a Taboot symbolizing Hazrat Ali's coffin, and Zuljanah, a representation of his horse. The procession was led by community leader Ali Rizvi. Mourners participated actively with activities such as Matam, which involves chest beating, and Noha Khwani, the recitation of elegies. Shuja Haider and other reciters performed moving laments during the event. Many families, including women and children, joined the procession, paying tribute by visiting symbolic items related to Hazrat Ali. After the procession, a Majlis-e-Aza, or mourning congregation, was held, featuring speeches from religious scholars. Allama Mudassir Ali Shah Mousavi spoke about Hazrat Ali's life.
