Youm-e-Ali processions conclude peacefully across Pakistan
The martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali was observed with great respect across Pakistan on Saturday. Mourning processions took place in many cities and all ended peacefully. Officials ensured strict security measures to prevent any incidents. In Karachi, the main procession began at Nishtar Park and followed traditional routes before finishing at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian in Kharadar. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah urged police and law enforcement to maintain high security. In Lahore, the main procession started from Mubarak Haveli inside Mochi Gate in the morning and ended at Karbala Gamay Shah. Authorities also banned pillion riding in Karachi to ensure safety during the event. All schools in Sindh were closed for the day as a precaution. Karachi Traffic Police implemented a traffic diversion plan due to the road closures for the procession. MA Jinnah Road was closed from Guru Mandir to Tower. Traffic was redirected to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazar. Only vehicles with special stickers were allowed on certain parts of the route for those participating in the procession.
