Youm-e-Ali processions held safely across Pakistan

Mourning processions for the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) took place across Pakistan under heavy security. Thousands of police were deployed to ensure safety during these significant events. In Karachi, the main procession began at Nishtar Park and ended at Hussainiya Iraniya Imambargah in Kharadar. Mourners gathered for prayers at Imambargah Ali Raza before continuing. Around 5,000 security personnel, including Rangers and commandos, were on duty. Snipers were positioned on buildings along the route, and access was restricted with containers blocking streets. Pillion riding on motorcycles was banned to maintain order. Traffic in Karachi was diverted to allow the procession to proceed. Alternate routes were provided to commuters to alleviate congestion. In Lahore, the main procession started at 9 am from Mubarak Haveli and ended at Karbala Gamay Shah, using traditional paths. Security was tight, with 7,000 police on duty and surveillance through city cameras. Officials assured that security would remain in place until the processions concluded. In Rawalpindi, the procession began at Azakhana Mubarak Bano and ended at Imambargah Colonel Maqbool. The police and security were on high alert, with food and drink stations set up along the route for mourners. Quetta's procession was scheduled to start in the evening from Alamdar Road. Security remained strict, with over 2,000 personnel deployed and roads sealed for safety. Similar processions were held in other cities, including Peshawar and Multan. To prevent any incidents, authorities imposed several security measures. This included road closures, a suspension of mobile services in some areas, and a ban on motorcycles.
