Youth protest drug trafficking at Walayar check-post

The National Yuva Janata Dal held a protest at the Walayar check-post in Kerala on Saturday. They are upset about the government's failure to stop the flow of drugs into the state. During the protest, Noufiya Naseer, the National Janata Dal's general secretary, spoke about the seriousness of the issue. She claimed that various law enforcement agencies are not doing enough to curb drug abuse, especially among young people and students. Naseer noted that drug-related crimes, including murders, are on the rise because of increasing drug use. The protest event included remarks from several leaders, including Jayson Uthumkuzhiyil, the state treasurer, and A.P. Yusufali Madavur, the state president. They emphasized the need for better government action to tackle the drug problem. Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, police intervened and arrested some members of the group to disperse the gathering.
