Youth's suicide linked to harassment in Hazaribag
A 26-year-old man named Saurabh Kumar Sinha died by suicide at his home in Hazaribag on Sunday. His family claims he was harassed by a local businessman and his police inspector brother. They believe this harassment led him to take his own life. Saurabh worked at Renuka Vastralaya, where he was accused of embezzling over Rs 1 lakh by the store owner, Amit Agarwal. The family said Saurabh had agreed to repay the money, and he had already returned Rs 30,000. However, they allege he faced ongoing pressure from Agarwal and his brother. Saurabh's father, Sujeet Kumar Sinha, stated that this harassment caused his son to become depressed. They also mentioned that a police sub-inspector visited their home the day before Saurabh's death, but local police deny this occurred. Bittu Rajak, the officer-in-charge at a nearby police outpost, promised a thorough investigation. He said action would be taken if any evidence of police involvement is discovered. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the family is calling for justice against both Agarwal and his brother.
