YouTube users are experiencing a bug that causes the app to automatically open the Shorts tab instead of the homepage. This issue has been reported frequently in recent weeks, affecting both free and Premium subscribers. The problem seems to primarily impact Android devices, including the Nothing Phone (3a) and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Users have noted that the app defaults to Shorts regardless of previous activity. To fix the issue, Android users can clear the app's storage or cache. However, the problem may reoccur when Shorts are accessed again. YouTube has not yet addressed the bug publicly.
