YouTube moves Subscriptions tab from bottom bar to top in app redesign

9to5google.com —

YouTube is removing the Subscriptions tab from the bottom navigation bar on its Android and iOS apps, relocating it to the top bar as part of a redesigned Home experience. This change ends the tab's nearly decade-long presence in that position. The Subscriptions link now appears second in the top bar after "Home," marked with a red underline. New dedicated feeds for Live, Music, and Movies & TV follow, with the latter shown only for users with active subscriptions. This redesign also eliminates YouTube's navigation drawer. The update coincides with the launch of custom feeds, which let users describe topics in their own words to generate tailored feeds. Free users can save up to three active custom feeds, while Premium members can save up to eight. The feature is initially rolling out to U.S.-based, signed-in viewers in English.
