YouTuber LegalEagle files lawsuit against PayPal over Honey extension's impact on creators
YouTuber Devin Stone, known as LegalEagle, has filed a lawsuit against PayPal, claiming its Honey browser extension is unfairly taking affiliate commissions from content creators. Stone argues that Honey replaces creators' affiliate links with its own, diverting revenue. The lawsuit follows a video by another YouTuber, MegaLag, who called Honey a "scam" for allegedly stealing money from influencers. Stone describes Honey as a "sleeping leech" that undermines creators' income by taking credit for sales. PayPal disputes the allegations, stating that Honey operates within industry standards. Stone is seeking class action status and invites other creators to join the lawsuit.
