Yunus insists on justice for Hasina as Bangladesh seeks her extradition from India
Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus stated that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina must face justice. He emphasized that his interim government will not allow her or her officials to escape punishment amid ongoing efforts to extradite her from India. Yunus mentioned that Bangladesh has sent a notice to India for Hasina's repatriation, citing evidence from a UN report on human rights violations. He expressed commitment to restoring law and order and fixing the economy while preparing for elections. His administration has established six commissions to reform various sectors, including the judiciary and police. Yunus aims for a transparent election in December and plans to step down once his tasks are complete.
