Yuvraj Singh mentors KKR's Ramandeep Singh in cricket

Ramandeep Singh, a young player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), recently shared how much Yuvraj Singh has helped him in his cricket career. Despite retiring six years ago, Yuvraj continues to support young players in Indian cricket. Ramandeep spoke on a podcast about his experiences with Yuvraj. He said that when Covid restrictions were eased, Yuvraj came to the PCA Stadium to help him practice. One day, Yuvraj even missed his own practice session to record Ramandeep’s batting videos. He stood in the sun all afternoon, giving Ramandeep advice on how to improve his game. Ramandeep expressed his respect for Yuvraj, calling him a kind person. He noted that many players turn to Yuvraj for guidance. They appreciate his willingness to help, even with his busy schedule. Ramandeep also aims to follow in Yuvraj’s footsteps as he develops his own style of play. In the IPL 2025 opener, Ramandeep played for KKR but was not able to help his team win. He remained unbeaten on 6 runs in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ramandeep has been close to achieving a significant milestone by hitting six sixes in one over, something Yuvraj famously did. He mentioned that he has hit five sixes twice but hasn't yet succeeded in hitting a sixth. Ramandeep told Yuvraj about his goal but stressed that it is more about the feeling of playing well than breaking records. He knows that if it is meant to happen, it will, just like Yuvraj's incredible achievements in cricket.
