Zadorov and Greenway fight during Bruins-Sabres game
BOSTON — In a recent NHL game at TD Garden, Nikita Zadorov of the Boston Bruins faced off against Jordan Greenway from the Buffalo Sabres. Both players are big, standing at 6-foot-6, and weigh over 230 pounds. The tussle started after Zadorov made a hit on Buffalo's Tage Thompson, which did not draw a penalty. Greenway did not approve of the hit and challenged Zadorov. The fight broke out with 8:23 left in the first period. The two heavyweights tossed aside their gloves and squared off in front of Bruins goalie Joonas Korpisalo. Although they both took swings, the fight produced few solid punches. Zadorov managed to land a couple of rights, while Greenway responded with some quick jabs. As the fight continued, Zadorov evaded a big swing from Greenway and then landed an uppercut that caused Greenway to lose his footing. The fight seemed to energize the Bruins, who scored two goals shortly after. Zadorov now leads the NHL with 133 penalty minutes for the season, with most accumulated before the New Year.
