Zara opens large flagship store in Nanjing, China
Zara has opened a new flagship store in Nanjing, China. This store is part of the brand's strategy to improve its retail presence. The store is larger and includes new features aimed at attracting more customers. Located in Nanjing's central business district, the store covers 2,500 square meters across two floors. It offers a private shopping salon with a lounge and personal fitting rooms. There is also a "fit check" studio, where customers can create and download their video content. Additionally, the store features Zara's first Zacaffe coffee shop outside Spain. Customers can book appointments for private shopping and studio sessions using the popular app WeChat. Zara is adapting to challenges in China, where competition from local brands is increasing. Inditex, Zara's parent company, has been reducing its number of stores in China. The brand had 570 stores in 2019, but that number dropped to 132 by January 2025.
