Zelenskiy calls for diplomatic efforts to end war with Russia in 2024
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine must strive to end the war with Russia through diplomacy next year. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in a peace deal, despite Moscow's openness to negotiations under a potential Trump administration. Zelenskiy emphasized that peace cannot be achieved until all Russian forces are expelled from Ukraine, including Crimea. He acknowledged the challenging situation in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces are advancing, particularly near Kurakhove. To address military needs, Zelenskiy mentioned delays in equipping Ukrainian brigades due to U.S. aid holdups. He also highlighted efforts to increase domestic weapons production, stating that Ukraine is currently testing four different types of missiles.
