Zelenskiy calls for diplomatic efforts to end war with Russia next year
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine must focus on ending the war with Russia through diplomacy next year. He acknowledged the challenging battlefield situation in eastern Ukraine, where Russia is making gains. Zelenskiy noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in a peace agreement. He also mentioned that U.S. laws prevent him from meeting President-elect Donald Trump before the latter's inauguration in January. Zelenskiy emphasized the importance of direct talks with Trump, stating he would only engage with the U.S. president, not with advisors or emissaries.
