Zelensky says Ukraine-Russia war could end faster with Trump as US president
Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky stated that the war with Russia could end "faster" if Donald Trump becomes U.S. president again. He believes Trump's administration will pursue policies that promote peace. Zelensky emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to conclude the conflict, which began in February 2022. He noted that the situation in eastern Ukraine remains challenging, with Russian forces making some territorial gains. Despite these advances, Zelensky highlighted significant Russian troop losses, estimating up to 2,000 casualties daily. He reported that Russia has suffered around 160,000 military deaths since the war began.
