Zelenskyy says Ukraine war could end faster with Trump as president
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine must work towards ending the war with Russia through diplomacy next year. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in a peace deal, despite Moscow's openness to negotiations if initiated by Donald Trump. Zelenskyy mentioned that the situation in eastern Ukraine is challenging, with Russian forces advancing rapidly. He highlighted delays in U.S. military aid as a factor but noted that new reserves equipped with awaited supplies will soon join the fight. Ukraine is also increasing its own weapons production, now testing four different types of missiles. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a direct meeting with Trump after his inauguration, as U.S. law prevents such discussions before then.
