Zion Williamson out for game against Timberwolves
The New Orleans Pelicans will not have star forward Zion Williamson for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. He is out due to a bruised lower back. This injury comes just two days after he played an impressive game, scoring 29 points with eight rebounds. Williamson has a history of injuries. Earlier this season, he missed 27 games because of a strained hamstring. Overall, he has only played 214 games since entering the NBA in 2019. In the current season, he has participated in 30 games, as the Pelicans struggle in the standings. Despite the setbacks, Williamson has shown strong performances. Recently, he achieved his first two career triple-doubles in just three weeks. Currently, he averages 24.6 points and 28.6 minutes per game. The Pelicans are having a tough season, sitting second-to-last in the Western Conference. They are also missing other important players due to long-term injuries.
