Zorhan Bassong replaces injured Richie Laryea for Canada
Canada's coach Jesse Marsch has called up Zorhan Bassong to replace injured player Richie Laryea for the CONCACAF Nations League Finals. Laryea suffered a hamstring injury on March 1 and was not fit to travel with the team. Bassong, 25, plays for Sporting Kansas City and has previously represented Canada in two matches. Canada will face Mexico in the semifinals on Thursday at SoFi Stadium in California. Laryea's injury was anticipated, as Toronto FC's coach indicated it was a medium-term issue. He will remain with his club to continue recovery.
